@ THE BANK CAFÉ
Tuesdays 7.30pm to 9.15pm February 24th to March 24th
Last year we had a successful and enjoyable series of meetings at the Courtyard Café during Lent called Christianity Explored. The meetings were especially for those who have questions, doubts, and those seeking and enquiring about faith issues. Others came who just fancied the idea of looking at the story of Jesus during Lent. Others came because they fancied a night out with good coffee and cake! There were teenagers present and retired people and adults in between.
We are running a Christianity Explored Course again this year at the new Bank Café on Parsonage Street Dursley, opposite the Town Hall. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bank-Cafe/657496294305417?sk=info&tab=ove...
The evenings are free to come along to, have a coffee/cake, (you have to buy your own!) listen to a short talk on the theme for the evening and engage in conversation with friends and make new friends.
You won’t be asked to read aloud, pray or sing.
You don’t need to know anything about the Bible or the Christian faith.
But you can ask any question you want, offer any opinion or just stay quiet and listen to the conversation.
You can find out more about the Christianity Explored Course by going to the website www.christianityexplored.org There are useful video clips, testimonies, and details about the course on the website.
The course goes through Mark’s gospel giving people time to think about the big questions of life, and to explore the life of the person at the heart of the Christian faith – Jesus Christ. Course participants will be given a handbook and a copy of Mark’s gospel free. There is plenty of space to talk or listen with no pressure and plenty of laughs.
A typical evening will start by people arriving and getting drinks and chatting to fellow course members. There will be a short talk of about 20 minutes given by Simon Helme, Minister of Dursley Tabernacle opening up the theme for the evening. Course members can then discuss questions around their tables for a further 20 minutes before all coming together in a plenary session for people to express opinions and ask questions and share thoughts.
Contact Simon Helme, minister@dursleytab.org.uk tel: 07443568242 for more details.
